I wanted to note that I think his philosophy is, to some extent, more compatible with Buddhist thought that with the Upanishads and Hindu mysticism although there are still some contradictions. I also agree with your conclusion that there is a self-contradiction in Schopenhauer as man is the objectivization of Will and yet he is supposed to overcome or destroy this Will.; 38.103.28.82
